An extraordinary session of the Regional Council of People's Deputies was held in Navoi.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in it.

At the beginning of his speech, the head of state expressed his deep respect for the people of the region and offered to conduct the session in the style of open dialogue.

- Our biggest goal from today's meeting is open communication. We need to find a solution to the problems of 1 million 50 thousand inhabitants of 330 neighborhoods in Navoi region. Dear deputies, intellectuals, my sons and daughters, you will be my friend if you openly say what is in your heart and the problems in the localities. If we find a solution to all issues in consultation with our people, there will be results. Let me agree with this meeting, let our people agree too, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In the conversation, the current state of Navoi region's development was analyzed. In the last three years, large industrial projects worth 2 billion dollars have been launched in the region. As a result, more than 10,000 new jobs were created, an additional 1 trillion soums of tax revenue and 100 million dollars of exports were provided annually.

It was shown that the region has great reserves and opportunities for further economic development. For example, imported products can be produced by local entrepreneurs on the basis of cooperation. In agriculture, the livestock breeding network is not fully operational. Fruit and vegetable storage capacity is low. There are issues that are bothering the population in the social sphere as well.

In general, it was noted that it is possible to turn Navoi region into a "poverty and unemployment-free region".

In the industrial sector, next year, 186 projects will be implemented and measures will be taken to create 15,000 jobs. This will be an important factor in reducing imports and increasing exports to 250 million dollars.

72 neighborhoods in Khatirchi, Karmana, Navbahor, Kyziltepa and Nurota districts specialize in growing potatoes, vegetables, grapes and pomegranates.

The head of our state emphasized the need to improve water supply in 5,000 hectares around these neighborhoods in order to expand these opportunities. Assignments were also given on the establishment of pasture plant seed farms, kavrak plantations, and agro-logistics centers.

Special attention was paid to the development of the social sphere, the establishment of schools and kindergartens, and the provision of housing and drinking water to the population. In general, it was announced that in 2023, an additional 655 billion soums will be allocated to solve social problems in the region, and another 750 billion soums will be allocated to the development of family entrepreneurship.
