A press conference was held on activities aimed at supporting the population within the framework of the "Central Asian States Desert Initiative (CADI) - conservation and sustainable use of deserts in Central Asia" project.

Mayor of Nurota district A. Fayziyev, deputy head of the FAO representative office in Uzbekistan Sh. Umarov, representatives of the local TV and radio channel and other mass media and the general public took part in the press conference.

The participants were told about this project at the Chuya MFY in Nurota district, about the implementation of successful projects by the representative office of the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the Republic of Uzbekistan during 2017-2022.

In particular, it was noted that seeds and seedlings, small greenhouses, milk processing equipment and refrigerators, sewing and sewing equipment were distributed to more than 80 households and homestead land owners in the village of "Chuya".

The main goal of the project is to improve the conservation and management of biodiversity and ecosystems of temperate deserts across borders.
